Rehab Coventry (Teach na hÉireann) - Activities
Our Activities
We currently provide:
- Benefit and Pension surgeries incorporating the help of external statutory bodies take place at the Centre on a bi monthly basis.
- Regular interaction with the Adult Education Department, Coventry City Council has resulted in twice weekly courses being provided within the Centre on the following areas: Basic Computing, IT, Financial Guidance, Health & Fitness, Art & Craft.
- Consultation with the Gulson Health Clinic has resulted in the provision of monthly confidential clinic being provided for those with mental health issue's and their carers.
- Allotment Pilot Project. This is an innovative new project which we see as very important, especially as many of our clients have been operating in external environments during their working lives and is popular with both men and women. There is a great team spirit in seeing their vegetables/flowers etc growing.
- Confidential Health and mental Health Clinic.
- Housing provision Clinics.
- Personal safety talks Police/Fire service.
- Safe Homes Project i.e. return to Ireland help & guidance.
- Counselling Service.
- Social activities including Irish music, songs, poetry, bingo and quizzes.
- Speakers from various organisations come to give talks on various issue's e.g. home energy savings, diet and nutrition, community safety etc.
- We celebrate special occasions e.g. St.Patricks Day, birthdays and also go on regular outings to other Irish Centre`s and tourist area's.
- The community are also encouraged to be involved with the centre e.g. local schools.
- Irish newspapers are provided to read at leisure.
