Momentum is part of Dublin-based Rehab Group
, a not-for-profit organisation, which has been leading the way internationally in the provision of services for disabled people since 1949.
Each year more than 40,000 disabled and excluded people access Rehab Group's training, employment, social care and commercial services in the Group's 160 centres across Ireland and the UK. Rehab Group's philosophy is that it is ability that should determine success in life, regardless of a person's disability or social circumstances.
As well as providing pioneering services, Rehab Group is also a leading campaigner for reforms to remove the barriers preventing equal opportunities, particularly for people with disabilities.
Rehab has NGO status to the United Nations and has participated in development projects that have benefited 8,000 women in Kenya as well as hundreds of schoolchildren in the South African township of Soweto.
In England we have three sister organisations; Rehab UK provides rehabilitation programmes and the Training for people with a brain injury. TBG Learning
provides training and employment services for more than 10,000 people each year. The Chaseley Trust
operates a residential service providing treatment and rehabilitation services for people with significant physical disabilities.
In Ireland, Rehab Group's services are structured into three main divisions which provide service direct to disabled people. These are; the National Learning Network (NLN)
which provides training, education and enterprise development, Gandon Enterprises which comprises a range of commercial companies employing a unique, integrated workforce and RehabCare
, the health and social care division which provides services in the community for disabled people and their carers.
