PLEASE NOTE:
For all of our overseas expeditions our travel company will offset the carbon emissions generated through the flights undertaken to reach travel destinations with green organisation Climate Care.
We're really committed to this fantastic event (six years now) because of not only the serious challenges, in terms of getting fit, to participate and in terms of raising your sponsorship - but also with fantastic rewards in exploring amazing Cuba in the company of Cuban guides - quite different from the tourist experience! Why not have a look at the Diary from a previous year?
You will cycle 350 kilometers from the Atlantic coast in the north to the Caribbean in the south. Don't worry; you will be supported all the way as this is not a race! We have the use of a small air-conditioned bus carrying water and offering rest and relief if necessary! If you are a disabled person, we will endeavour to make this event accessible for you.
You will have time at the start and the end of the challenge to explore Havana and to relax on a palm-fringed beach. You will cycle on mostly flat roads through orange groves and sugar plantations and you will experience the elation of conquering the occasional hill and pelting down the other side! You will sleep in basic hotels and eat Cuban food prepared by the guides as picnics during the day with dinner at each night's accommodation.
Here are a couple of photos taken of recent past Cuba events to inspire you!

I cannot recommend too highly that you register early then divide that daunting £2,695 minimum sponsorship target down into a monthly or weekly goal. Bear in mind we only need 80% of £2,695 (£2,156) to be in place before you travel. The rest can come in afterwards. Remember it's OK to pay for some of your trip yourself if you want to. You may feel this is only fair. Approximately £1,000 of your total will be used to provide your flights, accommodation etc - so perhaps you may see some of this as your own contribution. We are always happy to help with advice on fundraising and we will send you an A-Z of fundraising ideas to whet your appetite and some previous ideas of how people have previously raised their sponsorship. You should also check out Just Giving's FREE online sponsorship form by clicking on the button below. This is a great way to get lots of online sponsorship from e-friends.
