In Memory

From time to time we are offered a donation when someone who has benefited from our services during their lifetime has died.  Relatives want to support the organisation that was a support for their family through difficult years.

Family and friends may choose to pledge a lasting tribute in the form of recurring donations on the anniversary of a death or on a birthday.

There is also the option to leave a legacy to Momentum when making a will.

We are all encouraged to write a will in our younger years nowadays, and many people do so when they make their first house purchase or when their children are born.

Reasons to make a will

  • Protect your loved ones: you cannot assume that your partner or family will inherit everything after your death. Making a will ensures that your wishes are adhered to.
  • Legal implications: it is advisable to involve a solicitor in writing your will, as badly-worded or out-of-date information can result in legal problems for your family.
  • Expense: using a solicitor is not as expensive as you think.  Most solicitors charge a flat rate for making a will.  However, if it that trip to the solicitor is what is putting you off, you might like to check out an online service such as www.justwillsplc.com.
  • Leaving something to charity: now is the time to consider a cause you would like to support and include that cause in your will.  Let the charity know - they will be pleased to have your pledge and delighted to be able to thank you in advance!
  • Remember, a legacy left to Momentum will be spent in Scotland helping Scottish people to overcome barriers such as disability, mental health needs, addiction, poverty, isolation and exclusion.
