Join the 2009 Santa Ski & Board Challenge!

Sunday, 13th December, 2009 @ SNO!zone, Xscape Braehead, Glasgow

For our third year running, we're inviting you to be one of 100 Santas to take on our challenge to ski or snowboard 5km in just two hours.

This fun-packed festive event is a great laugh and a great chance to help support the vital work we do.

The Santa Ski and Board Challenge is a sponsored 5km downhill skiing or snowboarding event ...the difference is everyone is dressed as Santa (suits supplied including fleecy-white beard)!

You'll complete 25 runs (which equates to 5km) on SNO!zone's indoor real snow ski-slope. It's really easy to participate. You choose the time slot you want and then set about getting your friends, colleagues and family to help you raise some money for a fantastic cause.

When and where is the event taking place?

Sunday 13th December, 2009 at SNO!zone, Xscape Braehead, Glasgow. Participants can choose to join the morning (10am-12pm) or afternoon (2pm-4pm) session. Places are limited to 50 people per session so sign up quickly to avoid dissapointment. Closing date for entries is Friday 4th December but the sooner you join the more time you have to raise sponsorship.

Who can take part?

Both adults and children can take part in this event as long as they are of "recreational standard" i.e. can use the button lifts, control speed and direction, and perform controlled turns.

Beginners: We've also opened the Santa Ski & Board Challenge to complete beginners! Always fancied skiing but never got around to learning? We have 10 adult spaces open in the morning and the afternoon session for an hour lesson. What a great way to start your skiing career and raise money for charity in the process!

How much do I need to raise?

To register, a deposit of £10 for adults and £5 for children must be paid to Momentum. You then must pledge to raise the minimum sponsorship which is £100 for adults and £50 for children (8-12 years old).

What's included?

* Ski/Board Hire  * Boots  * Santa Suits
* 2 hours on the slope  * Hot Chocolate * Momentum T-shirt

How do I sign up?

Contact Lucy Wilson, Resource Development Assistant, to ask for an enquiry pack: Tel: 0141 419 5281/ Email: lucy.wilson@momentumscotland.org.

See our Santa Ski & Board leaflet:  download the leaflet here.

Join the festive fun today!
