Saturday 6th September 2008 - Down the River Tummel.

A lot of people here in Scotland rafted the rapids of the River Tay a few years back when charity white water rafting took off. But what an absolute slog it was, paddling over miles of flat-calm water! It really wasn't much fun and it was never enough.
However over the past few years the River Tummel, close to Pitlochry, has been 'discovered' as an absolutely superb WHITE WATER rafting river, thanks to a weekly dam release of water from the upstream Clunie Dam. This GUARANTEES high, white water and a fantastic trip downstream.
There are some great rapids within the first few hundred metres from the start point and then it really never lets up for the four mile descent down towards Pitlochry. At the end you come to an awesome double-drop rapid that will take your breath away - but you'll be totally up for it by then!
You raft in teams of six people and you go downstream with a fully-qualified raft guide. All the gear is provided as part of your package and you get instruction before the off. There is a Registration Fee of £20pp (normally £35) and thereafter all we ask you to raise is just £100 each in sponsorship. Due to insurances we cannot take anyone under 12 y.o.a.
