The scheme is part of the Department for Work and Pension's Young Person's Guarantee and is designed to support young people, aged 18-24 years, to enter the workforce.
Momentum will work with a range of partners including NHS Borders, local businesses, the Department for Work and Pensions and Jobcentre Plus, to deliver the programme.
Through the Community Task Force, participants will undertake a 13-week placement, working 25 hours per week. An additional five hours will be dedicated to personal mentoring designed to assist them in finding a job.
Each work placement will be structured to provide environmental, economic and social benefits for communities - typically including land management, gardening and retail.
Harry Wood, Momentum Borders Manager, said:
"Momentum is delighted to play its part in this important initiative. By delivering the Community Task Force, Momentum will be able to support young people to gain the skills, experience and confidence that they need to compete in today's challenging job market. The initiative will also enable these young people to make a really worthwhile contribution in their own areas."
In the Borders, Momentum also supports people to rebuild their lives after brain injury by providing specialist training in managing the effects of brain injury and offering support to enable people to move into employment, training, and education.
Momentum has been awarded the contract to deliver the Community Task Force initiative by TBG Learning, a leading provider of youth and adult learning programmes in the UK.
