Momentum Integrate, in partnership with the Big Lottery-funded Work Ahead project, helps both adults and children in the Scottish Borders to rebuild their lives following a brain injury.
Specialist staff help people learn the skills they need to live independently and to re-integrate into their communities. This includes managing the effects of their brain injury, one-to-one support, and a range of information, including a counselling service. Courses in daily living skills are also offered in partnership with Borders College.
For children with a brain injury, Momentum can also provide support to their family and carers, ensuring they understand the issues surrounding brain injury and will also liaise with other organisations, such as schools.
The programme provides an outreach service to an area covering 1800 square miles in the Borders.
Two support groups based in Berwickshire and the Central Borders meet monthly and give service users the opportunity to meet other people with a brain injury in their local communities.
Integrate receives vital funding from Scottish Borders Council.
