Momentum Care Coventry provides a range of services targeted at reducing the social isolation experienced by Irish Elders living in Coventry and the surrounding area.
In addition to centre-based activities, we offer an Outreach Programme providing assessment, guidance and support to the most vulnerable people in the community who are unable to access mainstream services.
Our Activities
We provide a wide range of activities and services at our day centre such as:
- Advice on a range of issues including benefits and pensions, health and wellbeing, housing provision, home energy savings, and community safety.
- Social activities including Irish music, songs, poetry, bingo and quizzes. We also organise regular outings.
- Counselling.
- Safe Homes Project which invovles providing support and advice to our service users on returning to Ireland.
Our Mini Bus Service
Momentum Care Coventry also operates a mini bus service to and from the centre for individuals who are unable to use public transport. The mini bus is also used to transport disabled elderly people on short break holidays and is fitted with an electric ramp.
Our Volunteers
We are extremely lucky to have the assistance of over 20 volunteers who are vital to the smooth running of the centre. They provide tea/coffee and buffet meals for all our service users as well as helping with local fundraising for the centre.
