Workability

Workability offers employment skills and training for people with a learning disability.

Service users gain skills, undertake training and work towards vocational qualifications, with the aim of achieving employment. Elements covered include CV development and interview techniques, job search skills, and Information Technology (I.T). Training is combined with hands-on experience in the workplace through work placements with local firms in areas such as catering, retail and warehousing.

A range of educational opportunities are also provided either at Workability or at college, supported at all stages by staff. Workability service users can study for City & Guilds or SQA qualifications, ensuring the same opportunities as those available in mainstream training and education.

All training is geared towards providing new skills, which will enable service users to enter the job market.
