Momentum's Starter Programme is based at Yoker Community Campus in Glasgow and supports people with learning disabilities or literacy difficulties to gain experience and train for qualifications in the catering and hospitality sector.
The Starter Programme has been designed to give service users the skills and confidence that they need by providing them with the opportunity to work in a fully-operational kitchen which serves food to the local public. The kitchen is managed by an experienced catering tutor who will provide the training. A qualified REHIS instructor / employment liaison officer will identify appropriate placements for service users to allow them to gain skills and experience, then ensure that they move into employment of their choice.
Continued support is also available from Momentum after service users begin their new employment to ensure sustainability.
