Starting Point is a new six-week programme offered at our Paisley service.
Starting Point operates as an introductory 'taster' programme, supporting service users to acclimatize to being in a structured environment and giving them support to make decisions about their future direction.
Service users take part in a range of activities, including groupwork in areas such as confidence-building, community inter-action, communication and trying each of the three departments at our Paisley service - catering, graphic design and IT/administration. This taster format enables service users to make an informed decision about which department they would like to be based in, should they choose to move onto our longer Work Matters programme at the end of the six weeks.
Service users are supported to access other programmes at the end of Starting Point, whether that is Work Matters or a programme with another provider in the area, easing their transition from unemployment to a more structured environment.
Starting Point is located within the Charleston Centre in Paisley - a purpose-built mental health resource.
