Starting Point

Momentum's Starting Point service is based in the Charleston Centre in Paisley, a modern, purpose-built Mental Health Resource Centre.

Starting Point is an introductory six-week 'taster' programme which enables service users to acclimatise to being in a structured environment and giving people support to make decisions about their future direction.

Service users take part in a range of activities which focuses on building confidence, community interaction, improving communication skills, and trying each of the three departments at Momentum's Paisley service which consists of information technology and social research.

This taster format enables service users to make an informed choice about which department they would like to be based in, should they choose to move onto our Work Matters programme at the end of the six weeks.

Service users are supported to access other programmes at the end of Starting Point, whether that is Work Matters or a programme with another provider in the area.
