Momentum offers services for people with a wide range of disabilities. Our services for people with physical and sensory disabilities assist service users to focus on what they can do.
Using the latest in assistive technology, service users can learn to work with adapted keyboards or to operate computers using headsets or their voices. The aim of this training is to support people to increase independence and move towards employment.
Our services also support people with learning disabilities to develop independent living skills, to access mainstream job opportunities and to make informed choices about their lives.
Momentum currently operates the following programmes for people with a wide range of disabilities including physical and sensory impairment - Energiser, Inclusive, Assist and Adapt.
"My rugby accident left me paralysed from the shoulders down. While in hospital, I worked with Momentum's Spinal Injury Service to find the best way for me to use a computer and tried various adaptive technologies. Just two months after coming out of hospital I went back to work as a software developer, using the voice recognition technologies. It has given me the independence to continue working in a job that I enjoy." Sean, Spinal Injury service user
