Momentum's Adapt programme delivers specialist training in technology to help disabled people use computers in a way that will help them to live more independently.
Through using innovative assistive technology such as adapted keyboards, Adapt provides information skills for disabled people, and those with sensory and neurological difficulties. Personal care needs can also be met.
Adapt assists people to move into jobs, further education and to live more independently by breaking down barriers and restrictions to learning.
The programme has an Outreach element to ensure that all clients have the opportunity to participate in our programmes. Adapt has also established close links with local colleges and employment services, which assist clients to realise their objectives as part of the community.
Adapt has also been working in partnership with Glasgow City Council's Library and Learning Centres to promote access to technology for disabled people throughout the city. 'Learning Solutions' is a range of innovative assistive technology available within the Real Learning Centres including touch screens, large keyboards, trackball mice, Zoom text software and multi-lingual packages for non-English speakers.
Adapt is open to disabled people from across Glasgow.
